Zusammenfassung

Synergy Energy Trader role based in Perth Central Park is part of the Trading Team. You will execute real-time trades to optimise Synergy’s portfolio through a deep understanding of generation, demand, transmission and regulation.

You will develop commercial, financial, and analytical skills, collaborating with the Trading Team to build models and research that enhance trading strategies. Training is provided to learn electricity and gas markets, with a 24/7 roster.

Qualifikationen

• A tertiary qualification (Quantitative disciplines are an advantage).
• Strong numerical and analytical capability to interpret complex information and convert large datasets into clear insights.
• Sound judgement and composure to make timely decisions using incomplete or rapidly changing information.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships and explain complex concepts.
• Proficiency with analytical and modelling tools; Power BI, Python, R, SQL, VBA or energy-market systems are advantage.

Role Description

The Energy Trader is an exciting opportunity within our Trading Team based at our Perth Central Park office.

Energy Traders are responsible for executing real time trades to optimise Synergy’s position through analysis established from a deep understanding of the key short-term drivers, such as generation, demand, transmission, and regulation.

Your work will be varied and will offer you the opportunity to develop your commercial, financial, and strategic skills. Energy Traders collaborate with other members of the Trading Team to develop sophisticated models and produce research which will enhance the high-quality analytical capabilities of the team and improve our trading strategies. The aim of the Trading Team is the efficient short-term optimisation of Synergy’s portfolio, with a focus on operational performance and financial growth. You will also undertake an in-house training program to learn to trade in electricity and gas markets. The trading desk operates on a 24 / 7 basis to meet our operational requirements and requires Energy Traders to participate in a 24 / 7 roster.
