Job summary

EY Parthenon in Sydney seeks a Director to lead Energy Lead Advisory. You will collaborate with energy developers, investors, financiers, and public sector stakeholders to drive M&A value creation and capital deployment across Australia.

You will oversee deal execution, regulatory considerations, and client relationship development, supporting the firm’s renewables and advisory capabilities in a flexible hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, engineering and/or law is preferred.
• Proven experience in a transaction role within an advisory environment with senior stakeholders.
• Strong expertise in M&A, corporate finance and energy market fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for energy M&A transactions aligning with client objectives.
• Manage engagement teams across acquisition or disposal of energy projects and portfolios.
• Lead execution of energy M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation and negotiation.
• Provide expert advice on regulatory compliance affecting energy sector projects.
• Oversee preparation of investment materials and detailed financial analyses.
• Identify issues impacting purchase price and deal structuring, enabling proactive risk management.
• Project manage teams and coordinate information flow among stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development and key account activities, leveraging client relationships.
• Explore opportunities to offer additional EY services through the renewables platform.
