Job summary

Kalwun Development Corporation Ltd is seeking a Specialist to support the Empowered and Connected Families program, focusing on safe care, family voice and cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children across South East Queensland.

The role operates under delegated authority from the Queensland Government and aims to strengthen self-determination, family participation and cultural continuity in planning and decision making.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Community Services (min Cert 3) or equivalent.
• 12 months experience in Child Protection or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies with families to address delegated powers.
• Ensure practice reflects self-determination and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle.
• Participate in Family Led Decision Making Process (FPP program).
• Contribute to assessments and prepare reports for stakeholder meetings.
• Conduct family mapping to identify supporters and preserve cultural connections.
