Job summary

SYC in Melton is seeking an Employment Coach to deliver high‑quality employment services under the Workforce Australia program. You will help participants overcome career challenges and progress toward their employment goals at our Melton site.

You will provide one‑to‑one coaching, career assessments and tailored action plans, network with local employers, assist with resume and interview prep, and ensure compliance while contributing to a supportive, outcome‑driven team.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, client facing or administrative roles.
• Time management, organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise to achieve outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills with strong written and verbal abilities; capable of client assessments and reporting.
• Outcome-focused with a genuine passion for helping people succeed.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one coaching sessions to participants, assessing needs, and creating personalised action plans.
• Conducting career assessments to identify strengths, interests and values guiding employment goals.
• Using networking to connect participants with community organisations and opportunities.
• Assisting participants with job search strategies, resume writing and interview preparation.
• Refer participants to training, counselling and other services to improve long-term outcomes.
• Ensure compliance requirements are met.

We’re seeking a motivated, participant‑focused Employment Coach to deliver high‑quality employment services under the Workforce Australia program.

SYC provides personalised case management, connecting participants with a wide range of employers and industries to create opportunities that match their skills and aspirations. With more than 50 locations nationwide, SYC offers accessible, supportive services designed to drive long‑term employment success.

In this role, you will work closely with participants to overcome career challenges, build essential skills, and progress toward their employment goals. This role is based at SYC's Melton siteand provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one coaching sessions to participants, assessing their career needs, and creating personalised action plans.
• Conducting career assessments and helping clients identify their strengths, interests, and values to guide their employment goals.
• Using sales strategies to work collaboratively and network with community organisations to create opportunities for participants.
• Assisting participants in developing effective job search strategies, including resume writing and interview preparation.
• Referring participants through training, counselling, and other services to increase long term employment outcomes.
• Ensuring compliance requirements are met.

About You

You thrive working autonomously while contributing to a broader team, bringing enthusiasm, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a difference. You have solid administration experience, strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines and KPI targets, and confidence working in an agile environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Experience in customer service, client facing or an administrative role.
• Time management, organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise in order to achieve outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills with well-developed verbal, and written skills, and the ability to conduct client assessments, developing case plans and case notes and reports.
• Outcome-focused with a genuine passion for helping people succeed.
• Ability to develop relationships with employers and relevant stakeholders.
• Ability to work flexible across multiple locations.
• Excellent computer skills.

Key screening and requirements

• Be willing to complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
• Be eligible to work in Australia.
