Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking an Employee Connection Specialist to support APAC HR Services. The role, based in Sydney, will handle employee inquiries, HR transactions in Workday, onboarding/offboarding, payroll prep, benefits, and compliance across Australia.

You will identify process improvements to scale a great employee experience aligned with our culture and collaborate with Tier 2 or relevant teams as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in HR services and administration in a dynamic environment.
  • Fully professional level of English.
  • Knowledge of international employment, payroll, global mobility, and Australian Labour laws is a plus.
  • Experience with contact center technology and HRIS (Workday) preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, O365, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to employee inquiries timely.
  • Performs HR transactions in Workday.
  • Assists with reorganizations including position management.
  • Prepares payroll information.
  • Onboards/Offboards employees.
  • Executes repeatable HR processes.
  • Oversees benefits and responds to benefits issues.
  • Tracks probation periods.
  • Assists with reporting and audit.
  • Provides employment verification.
  • Escalates unresolved matters to Tier 2 or relevant teams.

Your New Role

Reporting to the APAC P&C Services Supervisor, the Employee Connection (EC) Specialist is part of the Tier 1 HR Services’ Employee Connection team (EC) in APAC, which designs and runs the infrastructure to deliver an outstanding employee experience.

This role is based in Sydney and will be a key player, regularly interacting with employees to support and address their HR needs.

This role will support and execute standardized processes that are repeatable including the employee on and off-boarding, benefits, mobility, operations, and compliance in Australia.

The hire will be expected to be highly independent and proactive in identifying and implementing positive change and improvements to scale a great employee experience aligned with our culture.

  • Responds to employee inquiries timely.

  • Performs HR transactions in Workday.

  • Assists with reorganizations including position management.

  • Prepares payroll information.

  • Onboard/Offboard employees.

  • Executes repeatable processes.

  • Oversees benefits and responds to benefits issues.

  • Assists with reporting and audit.

  • Provides employment verification.

  • Proactively identify potential issues and escalated unresolved matters to Tier 2 or relevant teams and leads.

Requirements:
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the general field of Human Resources services and administration in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

  • Fully professional level of English

  • Proven knowledge of international employment, payroll, global mobility practices, social security, and labor laws in Australia (and New Zealand and/or other countries in the Asia Pacific is a plus but not required).

  • Demonstrated effectiveness working with contact center technology including but not limited to contact center tracking system and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) – Workday, ServiceNow knowledge preferred.

  • Advance skills in Microsoft Office, (and O365, SharePoint).

  • Ability to manage, influence, partner, negotiate, and effectively communicate through verbal and written methods.

  • Adaptive and flexible to new ideas and change.

  • Ability to effectively manage sensitive and confidential issues and difficult customers.

  • Passionate about customer experience.
