Job summary

ARH Wollongong is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join our growing team, offering a coastal lifestyle near Wollongong’s beaches and a 24-hour emergency and critical care setting.

Overnight availability is mandatory, with shifts primarily Thursday to Sunday nights. We welcome permanent part-time and casual arrangements to support the service and patients. Relocation and sponsorship opportunities, PR pathways, and strong mentoring programs are provided.

Qualifications

• Veterinary degree and NSW registration eligibility.
• Minimum 2 years' veterinary experience.
• ECC experience highly desirable.
• Availability to work overnight shifts, especially Thu-Sun nights.

Overnight Availability is Mandatory

As a 24-hour emergency and critical care hospital, overnight availability is a mandatory requirement of this role. The majority of rostered hours will be scheduled across overnight shifts, with our current operational focus on Thursday to Sunday nights.

Applicants must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced emergency environment and be available to meet the overnight rostering requirements of the position.

We are open to discussing permanent part-time and casual arrangements; however, successful candidates must be able to commit to the overnight hours required to support the needs of the service and our patients.

About You

You’ll bring:

• Veterinary degree and eligibility for NSW registration

• Confidence managing emergency cases in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for emergency and critical care
• Availability to work overnight shifts, particularly Thursday - Sunday nights
