Qualifications

  • Current Veterinary registration in Queensland is mandatory.

Animal Emergency Centre (AEC)Kedron has a unique opportunity for you to do both while also offering the flexibility to balance both your career and family responsibilities.

AEC Kedron is co-located with Greencross Kedron sharing hospital facilities, staffand embracing a one team philosophy. The team across both AEC and Greencross work cohesively to help each other out and are looking for new team members that share this ethos and desire to work collaboratively.

The Animal Emergency Centre (AEC) provide premier after-hours vet care to sick and injured pets. Today, AEC is part of the largest emergency and specialist group in Australia, hosting the largest contingent of Emergency Veterinarians in the country.

You'll collaborate with dedicated veterinarians, veterinary nurses, customer care representatives and clinic assistants who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their devoted owners.

Although this role is to focus in ECC we are open to discussing a role that is a combination of GP and ECC.

The Role
  • Combination of hospital shifts and consulting shifts
  • Varied shifts including days, nights, and weekends
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment—if you're new to ECC, we offer shadowing shifts with experienced ECC vets to guide you
About You
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) degree, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent, with Veterinary Registration in Queensland
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency veterinary practice, though it’s not essential
  • A strong team player committed to fostering a positive workplace atmosphere
  • Eagerness to contribute innovative ideas that enhance the hospital’s growth and success
  • Dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact tactfully with colleagues, pet owners, and referring veterinarians

  • Diagnostics, Surgeries & Medical Procedures may be performed in-clinic when the clinician is competent & referral is not deemed necessary for the patient's care.

Requirements
  • Current Veterinary registration and relevant qualifications.
  • A strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care across ECC settings.
  • The ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
