Gladstone Hospital invites applications for a Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist or Senior Medical Officer - Emergency. You will help shape a contemporary model of care in the new state-of-the-art Emergency Department, leading a clinical team with strong governance and regional reach.

You will mentor trainees and coordinate quality improvement, with opportunities to engage in audits, research and training pathways toward FACEM/FACRRM, across Central Queensland facilities.

Qualifications

• Leadership skills prioritising quality, safety and risk.
• Ability to lead service improvement through QA activities.
• Ability to liaise and negotiate with staff, public and others.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a contemporary, evidence-based model of care for the Gladstone Hospital Emergency Department.
• Provide high-quality emergency medical care and support clinical governance.
• Mentor medical, nursing and allied health staff, including trainees and junior doctors.
• Support Telehealth delivery and work across CQ Health facilities as required.
• Contribute to audits, research and specialist training programs.
