Job summary

Tomaree Hospital, part of Hunter New England Local Health District, is seeking a Career Medical Officer in Emergency Medicine to join the medical team in Port Stephens. The role offers 24/7 ED coverage with two rotating GP VMO/CMO shifts and a 12-bed inpatient ward with Fast Track services.

Applicants should hold AHPRA General Registration with at least three years post-graduate ED experience and ideally a specialist fellowship such as ACCRM, FRACGP, or ACEM.

Qualifications

• Must hold General Registration with AHPRA and at least 3 years post-graduate experience in Emergency Medicine.
• High level skills in clinical care, supervision, mentoring and teaching.
• Ideally pursuing or holding a specialist fellowship such as ACCRM, FRACGP, or ACEM EM Certificate/Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 emergency department coverage with rotating GP VMO/CMO shifts.
• Mentor and supervise junior medical staff and trainees.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety and multidisciplinary team initiatives.
• Contribute to service delivery and clinical governance within Tomaree Hospital.
