Job summary

Bass Coast Shire Council is seeking an Emergency Management Officer to contribute across all stages of emergency management—from prevention to recovery. The role is full-time for 2 years and then 0.8 FTE, reporting to the Team Leader Emergency Management and Resilience.

You will help plan, implement, and review emergency management responsibilities in partnership with emergency services and community organisations. Strong communication and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in the emergency management field or tertiary qualification in emergency management will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote emergency planning and preparedness across Council and the community.
• Build partnerships to enhance community resilience and deliver safety education programs.
• Monitor and implement fire prevention activities and issue permits under relevant legislation.
• Act in key emergency management roles during incidents and provide coordination support.
