CGH Emergency Department in Gippsland is seeking a Senior Medical Officer to provide and lead emergency medical services as a clinical leader and educator. The role supports international medical graduates through AMC components and mentors junior staff and students across three campuses.

The position emphasizes patient-centred, efficient care within an integrated service model, with opportunities for teaching, supervision, and professional development in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• General Registration with AHPRA or eligible for provisional or limited registration.
• Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience.
• Significant experience providing emergency medicine and training junior medical staff and undergraduate students.

Responsabilités

• Support the senior management team in appropriately prioritising patient need and to operate efficiently and effectively with a view to meeting community needs and providing a financially sustainable service.
• Escalate any operational issues impacting on service provision and patient care to the Hospital Coordinator or Executive team.
• Provide support and facilitation of learning opportunities for junior medical staff and undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines.
• Undertake performance appraisals at regular intervals as deemed fit by the Department Head
• Undertake appropriate credentialing for invasive and non-invasive procedures
