Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Support Worker for the Emergency Department to provide phlebotomy, cannulation and ECG services, supporting clinicians to deliver timely assessment, diagnosis and treatment.

You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, contribute to patient flow, maintain records, and uphold infection prevention and safeguarding standards while training and competency development are provided.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 healthcare qualification and have healthcare setting experience.
• Experience in emergency, urgent or acute care is desirable.
• Training and competency support will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Undertake phlebotomy, cannulation and 12-lead ECGs as directed.
• Assist with patient assessment by recording clinical observations.
• Support nurses and doctors to deliver safe, compassionate care.
• Escalate concerns regarding patient deterioration promptly.
• Ensure specimens are labeled, handled and transported correctly.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
