Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Team Leader for Emergency Services in Western Australia. Based at the Malaga depot, you will coordinate on-site catering for emergencies, lead volunteers, and ensure mobile kitchens, supplies and equipment are mission-ready for deployments across WA.

You will liaise with DFES and the Incident Management Team, plan meals, assist with food prep, and support depot tasks while contributing to volunteer recruitment and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational emergency or disaster services is desirable.
• Experience in volunteer engagement or management.
• Food handling experience is required or desired.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or ability to obtain.
• Senior First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain.
• Medium or Heavy Rigid Driver's Licence is desirable or ability to obtain.
• Strong initiative, motivation and self-management.
• Ability to collaborate with a positive team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate on-site catering operations during emergencies, including meal planning and service arrangements.
• Liaise with DFES and Incident Management Team during live responses.
• Support volunteers with direction, safety guidance and hands-on teamwork.
• Maintain readiness of depot equipment, supplies and mobile kitchens.
• Assist with food preparation, serving and emergency supply purchasing.
• Complete required paperwork and update incident management databases.
• Build relationships with local governments and participate in committees.
• Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
