Job summary

Cyient is seeking an EME Specialist to ensure detailed designs meet EME compliance and safe work procedures for telecom sites in Australia. The role requires deep knowledge of antenna theory, RF transmitter equipment, and regulations across 3G/4G/5G environments.

You will lead design reviews, liaise with clients, and mentor project engineers while guiding EME mitigation and site compliance. Ideal candidates bring 5–10 years of mobile network or radio planning experience, strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and two to five years of technical telecom experience.
• 5 to 10 years work experience in Mobile networks or Radio Network planning, design, performance monitoring and optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the Detailed Design complies with the requirements of clients EME compliance and safe Work Procedures.
• Review EME HOP / design information including redline mark-ups, For-Construction documentation, as built drawings, structural certifications.
• Produce PRD ( optional), F01, F02, F04, EMEG( optional), new site and STAD and update STAD on RFNSA for Telstra sites.
• Prepare PRD Instructions & mitigation steps
• Liaise with Customers on EME related design concerns.
• Generate ARPANSA environmental reports for new and existing sites
• Having detailed technical knowledge of the theory of antennas and propagation effects and mobile carrier transmitter and antenna details
• Sound understanding of 3G, 4G, and 5G antenna deployment concepts and NATA accreditation requirements
• Having high level of EME awareness and knowledge of OH&S issues relating to RF transmitter sites
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to a team of Project Engineers
• Liaise effectively with Client and relevant internal stakeholders (Property/ planning/ structural/ Civil and RF for smooth project delivery
• Ensure EME mitigation comply with RPS3 standard and MCF guidelines
• Mitigate existing EME issues and potential issues caused by change in EME environment because of site expansions
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years work experience in Mobile networks or Radio Network planning, design, performance monitoring and optimisation
• Sound understanding of Radio propagation theory and modelling
• Solid knowledge of antenna design, radio componentry and implementation principles within multi frequency environments
• Experience with site selection and design as well as Radio performance monitoring and optimisation
• Experience with EME calculations and EME compliance processes
• Sound understanding of Cellular Radio Infrastructure and RAN Features for LTE & 5G
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Under general supervision, responsible for moderately complex engineering and/or analytical activities associated with one or more technical areas within the telecom function (such as, but not limited to, network design, engineering, implementation, or operations/user support). Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and two to five years of technical telecom experience.
