Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Software Test Engineer within the Quality Assurance team to ensure high-quality software releases for defense-tech products. You will collaborate with Development and Hardware teams, perform test case development, regression testing, and implement automated tests across the SDLC.

The role includes preparing test environments, device flashing, and flight-related testing around Melbourne, with ISTQB accreditation and experience in HIL/SIL testing considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent overseas qualification.
• Cross-platform testing experience on Windows and Linux.
• Proficient in setting up and managing different test environments and operating systems.
• Ability to analyse and solve complex software engineering problems individually or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete software engineering and quality assurance tasks across the SDLC, including test case development and execution, regression testing, and automated tests.
• Verify product performance goals and measures; document testing activities and approval matrices of software releases.
• Recognise delays early and communicate them to the Director of Engineering.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers and Software QA Engineers to improve software design, testing processes and quality.
• Test environment preparation, including hardware setup, device flashing, software installation, execution, and flight testing around Melbourne.
