Job summary

Country Road Group is seeking a talented Menswear Designer to join our Design team in Melbourne. You will shape the future of Country Road menswear with a strong understanding of modern casual dressing, premium fabrication, fit and lifestyle-led design.

From concept development through to final production, you will collaborate with Design, Buying and Product Development to deliver elevated menswear that reflects quality, authenticity and enduring Australian style.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Menswear Designer within fashion or a complementary lifestyle category.
• Strong knowledge of menswear silhouettes, fabrication, construction, fit and finishing.
• A clear creative point of view with the ability to design product that is elevated, relevant and commercially successful.
• Experience managing the end-to-end design process from concept through to production.
• A strong understanding of casual wear and modern lifestyle dressing.
• Excellent understanding of colour, materials, proportion and garment detail.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to balance creativity with customer and business outcomes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across Design, Buying, Product Development and suppliers.
• Ability to build strong supplier relationships and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• A passion for quality, craftsmanship, responsible sourcing and enduring design.
• A genuine connection to Country Road and its values of Australian lifestyle, authenticity and considered design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute creative direction across menswear categories, bringing the Country Road design aesthetic to life.
• Translate seasonal inspiration, customer insights and market trends into commercially successful menswear collections.
• Create considered casual and lifestyle-led product across apparel, balancing comfort, functionality, quality and modern style.
• Develop cohesive ranges with a strong point of view across colour, fabrication, silhouette, texture and detail.
• Research and source innovative fabrics, trims and materials that reflect the Country Road commitment to quality and responsible design.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Buying and suppliers to take concepts from initial design through to final production.
• Lead fittings and product reviews, ensuring design intent, quality and fit are maintained throughout the development process.
• Partner with key stakeholders to deliver compelling collection stories and presentations.
• Use customer feedback, store insights and product performance to influence future design decisions.
• Maintain a strong understanding of menswear trends, fabrication innovation and global lifestyle influences.
• Support continuous improvement across the Design function through collaboration, creativity and new ideas.
