Job summary

Morse Micro, Australia’s leading semiconductor company, is hiring an Electronic Assembler to join a high‑performance team. You will solder/microsolder onto PCBAs, assemble and test products, and assist in rework and prototype testing as part of ongoing R&D support.

You’ll participate in inventory, labeling, and quality improvement activities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. The role requires IPC experience (preferred), familiarity with small component sizes, and strong attention to

  • Experience as an Electronic Assembler in electronics manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with 0603/0402 (and occasionally 0201) components.
  • IPC certification is preferred (current or past).
  • Proficient with common hand tools used in electronic production.

Responsibilities

Job description

Morse Micro is shaping the future of Wi‑Fi technology for the multi‑billion dollar Internet of Things markets. At Morse Micro you will be working with experienced professionals and engineers, some of whom are the team that invented the original Wi‑Fi technology that is ubiquitous today.

Responsibilities:
  • Soldering/Microsoldering electronic components onto PCBAs
  • Assembling and testing products in accordance with work instructions and provided training
  • Assist in rework and modification tasks, including supporting R&D activities (for example, building and testing prototype boards or assemblies)
  • Getting involved in all areas of lab and production operations including setup, maintenance and support activities, as‑required basis.
  • Assist in receiving goods and other inventory management tasks, including serialisation and labeling processes, stocktake, putting away stock
  • Contributing to best practice quality control and continuous improvement activities
  • Update documentation where appropriate
  • Provide feedback to improve processes and systems
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience as an Electronic Assembler within an electronic engineering or manufacturing background would be ideal.
  • Ideally experienced in soldering small electronic components (0603, 0402, and sometimes 0201 sizes).
  • Ideally IPC-certified (either current or previously)
  • Be familiar with hand tools that are commonly used in electronic production (cutters, pliers, tweezers, wire strippers, screwdrivers etc)
  • Have experience following testing procedures and using test jigs/fixtures (including running command line programs on the terminal via serial communications)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive attitude as well as respect for other team members.
  • Reliable & punctual.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise several tasks.
  • Self‑motivated and with an enthusiastic approach.
  • The applicant would preferably have a strong recent work history in the Electronic manufacturing field.
