The work behind the network

Enerven is part of the SA Power Networks Group and delivers electrical infrastructure across generation, transmission and distribution.

Our teams work across traditional network infrastructure, renewable energy and major energy projects supporting Australia’s evolving energy network.

For our electricians, that means hands-on work where technical capability, trade knowledge and quality workmanship matter.

You’ll work alongside people who know the industry, understand the standards required on major projects and value a job done properly.

About the role

As a Substation Electrician, you’ll be hands-on in the construction and installation of electrical infrastructure within substation environments.

You’ll work across substation plant, power and control cabling, control systems, electrical connections and associated installation works, working from approved drawings, specifications and project documentation.

You’ll be part of an experienced crew where people communicate, share knowledge and take pride in the work they deliver.

This is a 24-month contract opportunity, with potential opportunities beyond the initial contract as our business and project pipeline continue to grow.

Day to day you will:
  • Carry out electrical installation and construction works within substation environments.
  • Install and connect HV and LV equipment, cabling and associated electrical plant.
  • Install, identify, terminate and test power, control and associated electrical cabling.
  • Complete control wiring, marshalling and panel wiring to drawings and specifications.
  • Undertake cable glanding, identification and termination.
  • Complete earthing and bonding associated with electrical installations.
  • Read and interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams and electrical drawings.

  • Support testing, commissioning and project handover activities.
  • Complete ITPs, quality records and other project documentation.
  • Work in accordance with site isolation, permit and safety requirements.

Projects are delivered across South Australia on a 10/4 roster, giving you the opportunity to work on substantial infrastructure while remaining SA-based.

About you

You’re a qualified electrician with hands-on experience in substation construction and electrical installation.

You understand how to work safely around HV plant, can read electrical drawings and take pride in delivering quality workmanship.

You’re practical, reliable and switched on, with the ability to work effectively as part of a crew and take responsibility for the work you deliver.

You value working with people who know their trade, communicate well, look out for each other and maintain high standards.

You’re also looking for an employer where your experience is recognised and there is scope to keep developing your skills as your career progresses.
