Job summary

Ultralec Electrical & Air Conditioning PTY Ltd is seeking a permanent, full-time electrician in Pomona, QLD. You’ll have your own van and phone, with opportunities to work across electrical, air conditioning, solar, batteries and EV charging for local builders and households.

Start date in October with on-the-job training and progression into more complex jobs as you grow, alongside experienced team members in a busy Noosa Hinterland area.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted QLD electrical licence (finishing apprenticeship in coming months)
• Open driver's licence
• Comfortable with day-to-day electrical work and rooftop/roof cavity access
• Good with people and customer-facing situations
• Familiar with ServiceM8 on mobile devices

Responsibilities

• Carry out domestic and light commercial electrical work across the hinterland
• Power, lighting, fans, smoke alarms, switchboard upgrades, renovations and new build work
• Perform solar, battery and EV charger installations as required
• Work with a mentor initially, then manage own jobs with support when ready
• Maintain safety, quality and clear communication with customers

Local work. Your own van. Learn the whole trade, not one corner of it.

You're a qualified sparky in your first few years out of your time. Maybe you did your apprenticeship on new builds or commercial sites and you want more variety. You don't need service experience, we'll teach you that. What you do need: neat work, a good manner with customers, and the drive to get better every year.

Ultralec Electrical & Air Conditioning is a local business based in Pomona, working across the Noosa Hinterland, Noosa and Gympie. We're flat out and putting a second van on the road, and we're looking for a good electrician to drive it. Start date in October, flexible for the right person.

What the job actually is

Domestic and light commercial work right across the hinterland. Power, lighting, fans, smoke alarms, switchboard upgrades, renovation and new build work for local builders, split system installs, plus solar, battery and EV charger work as you get across it.

You won't be thrown in the deep end. You'll start out working alongside me, then take on your own jobs as you're ready, often with our apprentice. Fault-finding is something we'll build up together, and I'm always a phone call away and on site when it counts.

What we're looking for

Unrestricted QLD electrical licence (finishing your apprenticeship in the next few months? Still get in touch)

Open driver's licence – you'll cover a lot of hinterland kilometres

Comfortable with the day-to-day of the job: roof cavities, ladder work, confined spaces, lifting split system units and long days in a Queensland summer

Good with people – respectful with older customers and families at home, and easy to work alongside

Happy using ServiceM8 on your phone to keep notes and photos up to date on the job (it's easy to pick up)

Handy, not essential

Any service, solar, battery or EV charger experience

Who this suits

Someone who owns a mistake before anyone else finds it, and does the job right in a roof cavity with nobody watching. If you spot a tired switchboard or a missing smoke alarm, you tell the customer because it helps them, not because it's a sale.

Coming from construction or commercial? That's fine. If you're tidy, reliable and keen to learn, we'll teach you the service side. It's a great fit for a sparky who wants to get better every year and have a life outside work while they do it.
