Job summary

Sandy Evans Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Supervisor for a residential role in Cape York, Far North Queensland. You will lead the Electrical Services team within the community, supervising maintenance projects and coordinating contractors to deliver timely electrical works.

The position offers a base salary of 125,000–130,000 AUD per year, with allowances, subsidised accommodation, relocation assistance, and generous leave entitlements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Certificate III in Electrotechnology.
• Open unrestricted Car (Manual) driver's licence.
• Experience as Electrician on maintenance and new building projects (commercial and domestic).
• Experience supervising a team or leading a team.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures is advantageous.
• Knowledge of legal electrical requirements including Australian standards, WHS standards and Building codes.

The Opportunity

Ready for an electrical role where you lead! This highly respected Council is looking for a hands-on Electrical Supervisor to head up its Electrical Services team in the heart of Cape York.

As the Electrical Supervisor, you will be supervising the Electrical Services team within the community while working with other employees in the Building, Construction and Maintenance team and various contractors. It's varied, practical work where you can see the difference you make every day.

What you'll own:

Council has staff housing, leased accommodation as well as commercial buildings and water and sewerage infrastructure. They also complete maintenance works for Q Build. The Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring maintenance work is completed in a timely manner.

About You:

Qualifications and skills including;

• Minimum of a Certificate III in Electrotechnology

• Open unrestricted Car (Manual) driver's licence

• Experience in the role of Electrician on maintenance projects and new building projects, both commercial and domestic.

• Experience supervising a team or demonstrating the ability to lead and manage a team

• Experience or the ability to obtain an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, with the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Indigenous people, a knowledge of Aboriginal culture and customs would be an advantage.

• A knowledge of or ability to obtain a knowledge of all legal requirements in regard to Electrical work, including but not limited to Australian standards, WHS standards and Building codes.
