As a recognised leader in water infrastructure, we’re committed to delivering long-term, sustainable solutions that improve both infrastructure and the quality of life for communities everywhere.

Join us and be part of a team that’s reshaping the future of the water industry.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and delivery-focused Electrical Project Manager to lead the safe, compliant and commercially successful delivery of electrical works across our NSW project portfolio.

This role is accountable for managing the electrical scope on complex D&C infrastructure projects, from design review through to installation, testing, commissioning and client handover. You will provide leadership and technical oversight across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, statutory obligations and Aquatec’s Tier 1 governance standards.

As Electrical Project Manager, you will integrate electrical delivery with civil, mechanical and structural disciplines while driving governance, safety and quality outcomes. You will represent Aquatec as the primary client interface for electrical delivery, fostering confidence and trust through proactive communication and problem resolution.

Key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
  • Lead electrical delivery across Tier 1–3 D&C projects, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget and to safety and quality standards.
  • Oversee electrical design reviews, risk assessments, constructability and commissioning protocols (FAT, SAT).
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers and electrical delivery teams, ensuring performance against contractual deliverables.
  • Provide input into commercial matters, including variations, extensions of time and claims.
  • Drive compliance with WHS, environmental obligations and Aquatec’s HSEQ management system.
  • Promote continuous improvement and lessons learned across the project portfolio.
  • Coordinate with design, civil and mechanical teams to ensure integrated project outcomes.
  • Develop, monitor and control electrical programs, budgets and resource plans.
  • Act as the primary client interface for electrical delivery, building trust through proactive communication and issue resolution.
  • Ensure all electrical works comply with head contract requirements, industry standards and statutory regulations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely project reporting on progress, risk, safety and commercial performance.
  • Support governance and assurance processes to maintain Aquatec’s Tier 1 delivery standards.
About You

You are a technically strong and commercially astute project manager with proven experience in delivering major electrical scopes in the water or infrastructure sector. Your leadership strengths lie in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, managing subcontractors and navigating the commercial and governance requirements of complex D&C projects.

You know how to bridge the gap between technical detail and delivery outcomes, ensuring electrical works are not only compliant but also integrated, cost-effective and constructible.

You thrive in high-pressure environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining safety, client satisfaction and quality outcomes. With strong communication skills, you engage confidently with clients, authorities, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • NSW A-Grade Electrical Licence.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in industrial/commercial electrical works, with at least 5 years in D&C infrastructure projects.
  • Proven leadership delivering electrical scopes on projects valued $3M–$12M.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
  • Exposure to NEC4/GC21/AS4902 contracts and regulated utility frameworks (e.g., Sydney Water, Melbourne Water, Urban Utilities).
  • Strong understanding of Australian Standards (AS/NZS 61439, AS3000, wiring rules) and integration of SCADA/PLC systems.
  • Current White Card and driver’s licence.
  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent (desirable).

At Aquatec, you’ll join a collaborative, high-performing team that thrives on innovation, collaboration and excellence, all aligned with making a real impact. This role offers the opportunity to shape critical water infrastructure projects, work alongside industry leaders and grow your career in a culture that values both professional achievement and personal wellbeing. If you’re ready to take the next step, apply today with your resume and cover letter and be part of a team that’s redefining what’s possible in water infrastructure delivery.
