Build On Services in Australia seeks an experienced Project Engineer Electrical for a major energy transmission project based in the Hunter Valley, NSW. The role involves coordinating electrical works across two substations, with DIDO from Newcastle or Sydney and Mon-Fri roster under a contract arrangement.

You will review drawings and specs, liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, manage RFIs/ITPs, and ensure safety, quality and environmental compliance on site.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years' experience as a Project Engineer (Electrical) with local Australian experience.
• Local experience with a tier-one contractor.
• Substations experience (essential).
• Experience working remotely (favoured).
• Current unrestricted working rights in Australia.
• Willing to DIDO to the Hunter Valley from Newcastle, Sydney or another base, Mon-Fri.
• Full Australian working rights required: Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid Australian work visa with unrestricted work entitlement.
• Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate electrical works across two expanding substations, from planning through to commissioning and handover.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
• Coordinate works within and alongside live or operational substation environments.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, designers and internal teams to keep works on programme.
• Prepare and track RFIs, ITPs, inspection and test records, and quality documentation.
• Monitor progress, quantities and costs, and support reporting to the Project Manager.
• Support safety, quality and environmental compliance on site.
• Identify and elevate technical, programme and interface risks in a timely manner.
