Job description

Electrical Manager Frontline Recruitment Canberra, ACT, AU

  • Continued growth, well-renowned Australian trade company!
  • $150K Package plus bonuses and incentives
  • Rewarding and challenging role - 100% off the tools!
About the company

This locally owned and operated multi-trade business has been servicing Canberra, Queanbeyan and surrounding areas for more than 10 years. With established specialist divisions across Plumbing, Roofing and Air Conditioning, the business has built a strong reputation for quality workmanship, exceptional customer service and looking after its people.

Due to continued growth, the business is now investing heavily in establishing and growing its Electrical division. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrician with previous management or business-building experience to take ownership of the residential electrical division and help build it from the ground up.

The business has strong operational and administration support already in place, allowing the successful candidate to focus on developing the team, growing the division and delivering outstanding service to customers.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Manager to establish, lead and grow a residential electrical team. This role is ideal for an electrician who is ready to step away from being on the tools every day but still wants to remain connected to the trade. You may have previously owned your own electrical business or established and grown an electrical department within another organisation.

As the first Electrical Manager, you will have genuine ownership and the opportunity to shape the division from day one. You will work closely with the operations and administration teams while building a high-performing team of electricians and apprentices.

This is a hands-on leadership position focused on people, quality, customers, systems and growth rather than simply managing from a desk.

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Build, lead and mentor a team of residential electricians and apprentices
  • Establish and implement systems and processes for the electrical division
  • Provide technical guidance and support to field-based electricians
  • Review quotes, job reports and completed works for quality and accuracy
  • Work alongside the administration team on scheduling and resource planning
  • Attend sites when required to support technicians and resolve technical issues
  • Coach and develop team members to improve performance and capability
  • Maintain strong relationships with residential customers
  • Identify opportunities for additional works that genuinely benefit customers
  • Monitor job quality, safety, productivity and customer satisfaction
  • Help develop and maintain a positive team culture
  • Work closely with management to grow the electrical division and achieve business objectives
Skills & Experience
  • Current unrestricted Electrical Licence
  • Extensive experience within residential electrical services
  • Previous experience building an electrical business or establishing/growing an electrical department is essential
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge and problem solving ability
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong commercial understanding and a desire to grow a successful division
  • Natural ability to mentor, coach and develop electricians and apprentices
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards of safety and workmanship
Benefits & Perks
  • $150K+ salary package including superannuation
  • Additional bonuses linked to the success of the team and electrical division
  • Fully maintained dual cab ute/van
  • Fuel card
  • Company uniform
  • Company phone
  • Ongoing leadership and management training
  • Strong administration and operational support
  • Regular team events and social functions
  • Genuine opportunity to build and lead a new division
  • Improved work-life balance without being on the tools every day
Why make the move?

This is an opportunity to take everything you've learnt throughout your electrical career and use it to build something bigger. If you've previously run your own business or established an electrical department, you understand what it takes to build a team, develop systems, win customers and create a strong reputation. Now you can do that with the backing of an established, multi-trade business and a dedicated administration and operations team behind you.

You won't be chained to a desk, nor will you be expected to spend every day on the tools. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to lead people, solve problems, improve systems, support customers and build a successful residential electrical division.

If you're ready to take the next step in your career and build a high-performing electrical team with genuine ownership and earning potential, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
