Job summary

Progress Rail Australia is seeking a Locomotive Maintainer (Electrical) for a 7-month fixed-term role at our Cardiff Facility. The position focuses on maintenance, warranty, modification and ongoing technical support of locomotives, with a four-day work week.

You will read drawings, perform preventative maintenance and repairs, troubleshoot faults, and work with a hands-on team. Progress Rail offers growth opportunities, mentoring and supplied PPE.

Qualifications

• Experience with locomotives freight maintenance or service desirable.
• Experience in heavy maintenance environments.
• Strong fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, warranty, modify, and support locomotives.
• Read and apply technical drawings.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Provide recommendations to improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot faults on rolling stock.
