Job summary

Control & Electric Pty Ltd in Canberra is seeking an Electrical Draftsperson/Engineer to join a high-performing team. The role focuses on HVAC/BMS controls, with full-time preferred and part-time negotiable.

You will deliver electrical schematics, switchboards, and BMS related drawings across projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD/PowerCAD, comfortable with Microsoft Office, and have experience drafting for electrical/building automation services.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting electrical and building automation controls services.
• Competent with AutoCAD, PowerCAD or similar.
• Knowledge of AS/NZS Standards related to electrical trade preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce single line diagrams, electrical and BMS schematics for projects.
• Design and verify mechanical switchboards using AutoCAD/PowerCAD.
• Collaborate with automation and energy engineers to improve final switchboard designs.
• Provide drafting and document control from initial review to close out.
• Read and follow project electrical and BMS drawings and documentation.

We are seeking an Electrical Draftsperson/Engineer to join our dynamic workforce. If you're passionate about HVAC/BMS controls and thrive in a high-performing team, this opportunity is perfect for you! Full time preferred but part time on negotiation.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work on delivering high-quality single line diagrams, electrical and BMS controls schematics, termination diagrams, and general arrangement drawings for all projects.
• Design switchboards and provide guidance on compliance with all related AS/NZS Standards related to the Electrical trade.
• Provide electrical drafting and drawing management services for all projects, from initial review and construction approval stages, through to As Built management and close out document control.
• Reading / understanding / following project related Electrical and BMS drawings and documentation.
• Design and verification of Mechanical Switchboards using software such as AutoCAD and PowerCAD.
• Collaborate with in house automation and energy engineers and technicians to improve processes and final design of switchboards.
• Participate in all required Company training.
• Comply with all Control & Electric WHS Policies / Procedures.
• Able to work unsupervised and as a team member.

Skills & Experience

• Competent with AutoCAD, PowerCAD or similar
• Competent PC skills are essential, e.g. Microsoft Office
• Previous experience with drafting for electrical and building automation controls services.
• Experience with or willingness to learn common electrical industry product selections.
• Existing knowledge of building mechanical services preferred but not essential.
• Australian citizenship preferred, due to the security requirements of the projects
• Laptop.
