Job summary

You’ll learn safe installation practices, read drawings, install and test wiring, and gain practical skills through on-the-job training and formal theory components of the apprenticeship program.

Qualifications

• Year 10 or equivalent education with strong numeracy and literacy.
• Ability to work safely and follow health and safety procedures.
• Willingness to obtain or hold a valid driver's licence.
• No prior electrical experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Ideally completed a pre-apprenticeship electrical course.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified electricians on residential, commercial and industrial projects.
• Learn and apply safe electrical installation practices under supervision.
• Prepare work sites, organize tools and materials, maintain safety.
• Install, test and troubleshoot electrical wiring and systems.
• Read electrical drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Conduct basic electrical testing and measurements.
• Comply with electrical codes, safety regulations and procedures.
• Attend formal training components of the apprenticeship programme.
• Develop communication with supervisors, colleagues and clients on site.
