Lead, Inspire & Shape the Future of Electrotechnology Education with TAFE Queensland

TAFE Queensland Gold Coast is seeking anEducational Team Leader for ourElectrotechnology team – a pivotal role where you’ll combine your teaching expertise with leadership skills to guide and empower a team of passionate educators.

Based at ourAshmore Campus, you’ll lead a high-performing teaching team, ensuring excellence in delivery, innovation in training, and strong industry engagement. This is your chance to make a lasting impact on students, staff, and thefuture of the electrical industry.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and mentor a team of educators, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Drive quality outcomesin vocational education and training (VET) programs.
  • Oversee programming and planning, including training strategies and timetables.
  • Champion innovationin teaching methodologies and digital learning environments.
  • Manage people processes, performance development, and compliance with standards.
  • Act as a conduitfor technical advice and support cultural transformation.

Key Capabilities
  • Demonstrate ability to lead vocational educational delivery, including the capacity to plan and deliver education and training courses.
  • Apply knowledge, expertise and skills to provide professional development and mentoring to a multi-disciplinary educational team, and respond positively to new directions and demands of the training market.
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional and self-development with a focus on qualifications/skills update and contemporary industry practices, including safe, equitable and anti-discriminatory work practices.
  • Display highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively liaise, consult and negotiate with internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ability to encourage creativity and innovation, and thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
Mandatory
  • Vocational Qualifications and Competencies relevant to Industry Trade Skills being delivered and assessed
  • A Nationally Recognised Training and Assessment Credential (TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent or higher)
  • Current industry skills and knowledge
  • Current knowledge and experience in vocational training and learning
  • Evidence of undertaking professional development in the practice of vocational training, learning and assessment
Highly Desirable
  • UEE30820 – QLD Electrical Fitter Mechanics licence or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years experience teaching with TAFE or another Vocational Education Training provider or Trade Skills College education environment
  • Experience in team leadership in a similar workplace environment
  • High level of digital literacy skills across various software platforms and Learning Management Systems
Salary & Benefits
  • $116,193.84 – $124,323.28 gross per annum, dependent on experience
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contributions
  • 17.5% leave loading, paid as a lump sum in early December
