Job summary

YMCA Queensland seeks an Educational Leader for our OSHC team in Leichhardt. The role is permanent part-time, guiding educators, delivering engaging programs, and creating a safe, inclusive environment for children after school hours.

You’ll lead by example, coach staff, and collaborate with families and schools to support child development while upholding high care standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent (desirable).
• Minimum three years’ experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, learning.
• Evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning.
• Leadership theory and diverse leadership styles.

We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic Educational Leader to join our YMCA Leichhardt Outside School Hours Care team on a permanent part time basis.

In this role, you’ll help shape fun, engaging programs that support children’s learning and development outside of school hours. You’ll guide and support a team of educators, bring creative ideas to life, and make sure every child feels safe, supported, and included.

• Connecting and collaborating with families, schools, and community partners to create a strong support network around each child
• Ensuring all programs meet and exceed compliance requirements while maintaining the highest standards of care

What you’ll bring

• A Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent (desirable)
• Minimum three years’ experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, learning
• A demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning
• Working knowledge of leadership theory and the use of a range of leadership styles
• Well-developed critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Paid Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
