Job summary

AGA is recruiting an Education Support Trainee for a premier Specialist Developmental School in Croydon. You will work with teachers and therapy staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students with diverse needs.

Interviews start November 2026 with a 2-day trial, leading to a 12-month traineeship and a Certificate III in Education Support. Travel to Deer Park during holidays may be required; WWCC is compulsory.

Qualifications

As an Education Support Trainee, you will work alongside experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment for students with diverse learning needs, disabilities, or developmental challenges

This position will commencce in 2027 but interviews and trails will commence in November 2026.

Please Note: Individuals with a Certificate III or higher in Education Support are ineligible for this role.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Assisting classroom teachers with lesson delivery and educational activities with secondary students.
• Assisting students with Numeracy and Literacy
• Providing direct emotional, behaviour and practical support support, and practical support to students.
• Nurturing student independence, social skills, and classroom engagement.
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.

Who We Are Looking For:

• Individuals who are passionate about working with children and making a difference.
• Patient, empathetic communicators who remain calm under pressure.
• No prior experience is required! Previous experience working with children or children with disaibilities would be highly regarded.
• Note: The successful candidate must hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Applicants will travel to Deer Park through the school holidays to complete the theory coponent of this position.

As part of our recruitment process, applicants must be available to complete a 2-day trial period. This trial gives you the opportunity to experience the role firsthand and ensure you are ready to commit to a 12-month traineeship. Simultaneously, it allows our teaching staff to observe your interactions with both students and colleagues.
