Job summary

Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School seeks an Education Support role to assist with school transport and student support under supervision. You will coordinate support tasks, help teachers within educational activities, and ensure student safety during bus transit.

The position involves following established guidelines, maintaining safety protocols, and collaborating with staff to support educational services for students with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to follow guidelines and frameworks while coordinating support tasks.
• Ability to work effectively in a school team environment and support others.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, within a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Bus safety supervision and student management in transit.
• Hold a first aid qualification with CPR and anaphylaxis training, from a recognized provider.
• Attend annual first aid refresher courses and maintain Working with Children Check.
• Assist teachers within educational programs and coordinate support functions as directed by the principal or manager.
• Record and communicate behavioural and safety issues to the school and bus operator as required.
• Adhere to risk management plans and document travel manifests and student handovers.
• Ensure wheelchair safety, seatbelts, and supervise students during transit.
