Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst, Bathurst NSW, is recruiting an Education Officer: Formation & Religious Education (Secondary) for a permanent full‑time role commencing 11 January 2027. The position sits within the Faith Formation and Religious Education team to design and deliver quality learning and teaching practices.

The role requires a strong background in secondary Catholic education, postgraduate qualifications in Religious Education or Theology, and willingness to travel for

Qualifications

• Commitment to the Catholic ethos in the workplace.
• Background in Secondary Catholic school education with classroom success.
• Experience in Religious Leadership in Catholic Schools and staff mentoring.
• Ability to support teachers to improve Religious Education teaching and learning.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Actively promote the Vision and Mission of Catholic education in the Diocese.
• Coordinate collaboration among Pastors, parents, teachers and ministry teams.
• Develop and lead Stage 4 and Stage 5 Religious Education Curriculum.
• Develop and lead Stage 6 Studies in Catholic Thought and Studies of Religion.
• Collaborate with Head of Faith Formation on faith formation opportunities.
• Coordinate and facilitate forums for spiritual formation (workshops, retreats, programs).
• Support Youth Ministry and formation.
• Travel with overnight stays as required.
