Job summary

ACT in Canberra is seeking an Education Officer to support delivery, administration and continuous improvement of Arboretum education and public programs. The role suits someone who enjoys outdoor settings, diverse audiences, and creating memorable learning experiences.

You will work with the Education Manager and team to run programs for schools, early learning services, community groups and visitors, manage bookings, and help develop new learning opportunities and visitor experiences.

Qualifications

• First aid certificate required or able to obtain.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Experience delivering education programs is desirable.

We are seeking a motivated and organised Education Officer to support the delivery, administration and continuous improvement of the Arboretum's education and public programs. This exciting role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors with diverse audiences and creating exceptional learning experiences in a unique environmental setting.

As part of a small and collaborative team, you will work closely with the Education Manager and Education Officer to deliver high-quality programs for schools, early learning services, community groups and visitors. You will play a key role in the administration of bookings and group visits, delivering engaging programs, and contributing to the development of new learning opportunities and visitor experiences.

• Possession of, or the ability to acquire, a first aid certificate.
• Driver’s License

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of permanency.

An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
