Chisholm Institute of TAFE in Frankston, VIC, seeks an experienced Education Manager for Hair and Barbering to lead educational excellence and drive business growth within the Hair, Beauty & Wellness area. You will oversee strategy deployment, resources, and collaboration with industry partners to ensure industry currency and quality outcomes.

The role requires AQF 5/6 teaching qualifications, current vocational credentials, and professional registration.

Qualifications

• Adult teaching qualification at AQF 5/6 level or higher.
• Vocational qualifications relevant to the teaching discipline and industry currency.
• Registration with professional bodies as required for the teaching discipline.
• TAE40122 or equivalent qualifications meeting the RTO Standards 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and delegate tasks to deliver operational outcomes (teacher performance, timetabling, resources, loads, student progress).
• Maintain high standards of professional practice and foster collaboration across staff, industry and employer networks.
• Design and evaluate innovative, customised vocational education and training responses for students and clients.
• Improve teaching quality by ensuring materials are student-centered and adaptable.

Chisholm is seeking an experienced and student-focused Education Manager - Hair and Barbering within the Hair, Beauty & Wellness team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of the Education Manager Hair and Barbering is accountable for the provision of quality, operational support and leadership through the focus and development of strategies and programs that promote the Institute's Educational Excellence Framework.

This position directly supports the Manager and peers in the Hair, Beauty and Wellness business area in managing and leading the implementation of educational excellence, business growth and opportunities that enhance the Institute's reputation and meets industry and community needs in the course areas as designated.

The incumbent is a key member of the Hair, Beauty and Wellness business area and the Education Manager Network within Chisholm and provides contemporary teaching and learning leadership and expertise in their subject matter area and educational excellence.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and delegate tasks to the team to deliver operational outcomes including; Teacher Performance, timetabling, resource allocation, teacher loads and student progress
• Maintain high standards of professional practice and develop co-operative and effective working relationships between all staff and across the Institute, Industry and Employer Network.
• Lead the design, development, delivery and evaluation of innovative, customised, high-quality vocational education and training responses for identified students and clients
• Improve the quality of teaching and learning through ensuring materials have a student-based approach and adaptive curriculum to secure best outcomes
• Engage with employers and industry representatives to ensure teaching materials and content meet industry and employer needs and currency
• Contribute to business development activities including tenders and submissions to support business growth and the Institute's fee for service goals
• Work collaboratively with industry to align current and emerging industry needs and facilitate relevant and responsive delivery models that engage learners

ABOUT YOU

You are a highly motivated individual with well-developed skills in transferring knowledge, including the ability to research, select and use a wide range of learning resources and assessment tools.

Qualifications required for the role

• Adult Teaching qualification at AQF 5/6 level or higher
• Vocational qualifications relevant to or above the level required and industry currency
• Registration with professional bodies as required for the teaching discipline
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122)or equivalent qualifications that meet the RTO Standards 2025
