Job summary

STAT Recruitment seeks a locum Emergency Medicine physician for Inverell District Hospital in NSW. You will be the sole doctor in charge of the ED, delivering urgent care across day and night shifts (0800–2000 and 2000–0800) with on-site anaesthetics and remote retrieval support.

SDPR training completed before starting is required, and locums must stay onsite for shifts. Accommodation is provided, with travel reimbursed up to AUD 800, and a fleet car available on request.

Responsibilities

An acute bed facility offering care to the community , including day surgery, high dependency, 24 hour emergency and outpatients.

SDPR training completion required prior to commencing, please ensure locum is committed to completing the 6hrs for training required before commencing these shifts. Doctors are paid for this time.

Accommodation provided and travel up to $800 reimbursed (flights or mileage only). A fleet car may be provided on request.

You’ll be the sole Doctor in charge of emergency medicine, providing vital care to patients in our bustling Emergency Department. Locums must remain onsite for the entire shift, ensuring prompt and continuous care, except for designated breaks. Shifts are strictly Day 0800-2000 and Night 2000-0800. Plus, locums presenting for more than 7 days on-call will require 2 mandatory rest days for fatigue management.

Inverell District Hospital has a dedicated Emergency Department providing care for high acuity critical care patients with a wide variety of clinical presentations that will enhance your independent practitioner skills and autonomy while being supported by on-site anaesthetics, gynaecology and remote retrieval teams. We have a strong focus on community engagement and work collaboratively with our GP/VMOs. We also have on-site staff facilities and ample parking.
