Job summary

Peninsula Vet Emergency & Referral Hospital in Mornington is seeking an experienced ECC Veterinary Nurse for a Casual role on the Peninsula. You’ll work within a leading referral hospital, collaborating with specialists, registrars and a skilled nursing team in a high-acuity setting.

The role offers evenings, nights and weekends with leadership opportunities as you grow. Join a multidisciplinary team and help train the next generation of veterinary professionals, on the Mornington Peninsula.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or higher) required.
• 2–3 years ECC or advanced GP experience.
• Demonstrated teamwork and clear communication skills.
• Positive, adaptable attitude and patient advocacy.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Casual role with rotating evenings, nights and weekends.
• Work in a fast-paced referral hospital with specialists and registrars.
• Support trauma patients, ventilator cases, anaesthesia, and critical care.
• Contribute to training and teaching at a University teaching site.

As part of our referral hospital team, you’ll be at the heart of complex, high-acuity cases you won’t find in general practice.

About You

We’re seeking a confident and committed ECC nurse who thrives in a busy, referral-level hospital environment.

You will have:

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or higher)
• At least 2-3 years of ECC or advanced GP experience
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• A positive attitude, adaptability, and passion for patient advocacy
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning (and maybe even snacks and good vibes!)
