Job summary

North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre is seeking an experienced Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian to join our 24/7, referral-hospital team on a full-time or part-time basis. You will triage, stabilise and manage critically ill patients with a dedicated nursing team and access to specialist advice.

Our roster spans day, night and weekend shifts, with on-call specialist support overnight. This role offers development in a collaborative, well-equipped hospital on Sydney’s Lower North Shore.

Qualifications

• At least two years of ECC or emergency experience.
• BVSc, DVM or equivalent with eligibility for NSW veterinary registration.

The Role

Our growing Emergency & Critical Care team is looking for experienced ECC veterinarians to join us on a full-time or part-time basis, across day, night and weekend shifts.

You’ll triage, stabilise and manage critically ill and injured patients, supported by an experienced nursing team and access to specialist advice. Overnight shifts include on-call specialist support.

This is an opportunity to build your ECC skills, manage challenging cases and work within a collaborative, well-equipped referral hospital.

About NSVSC

NSVSC is a leading 24/7 multidisciplinary referral hospital on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. Our specialists in surgery, internal medicine, anaesthesia, exotics, cardiology and oncology work alongside experienced emergency clinicians and highly skilled nurses in a genuinely collaborative environment.

Our facilities include:

• VECCS Level II Accreditation
• Dedicated ICU with cot beds and oxygen cages, and Mindray ventilators for mechanical ventilation
• In-house blood bank with blood product preparation
• Full in-house laboratory (biochemistry, haematology, blood gas)
• Two ultrasound rooms, digital X-ray, 128-slice GE CT and Siemens 1.5T MRI
• Fluoroscopy and endoscopy
• Three fully equipped operating theatres

About You

• BVSc, DVM or equivalent, with eligibility for veterinary registration in NSW
• At least two years of ECC or emergency experience, with confidence managing a broad range of emergency presentations
• Motivated GP vets with a strong interest in ECC are also encouraged to apply
• A desire to continue developing your emergency medicine skills in a specialist-supported environment
