Job summary

Animal Referral Hospital in Sydney is seeking an experienced Emergency & Critical Care veterinarian to become Clinical Director. The role is clinical-first, focusing on leadership, mentorship, and measurable impact without dwelling on rosters or KPIs.

You will be the clinical anchor of the emergency service, setting patient-care standards and guiding clinicians at every development stage. A senior clinician will influence protocols and long-term vision while collaborating with management.

Qualifications

• Holds a veterinary degree registrable in New South Wales.
• Brings 5+ years’ experience in a 24/7 Emergency & Specialty hospital.
• Clinically confident and respected by peers.
• Loves mentoring, teaching, and developing others.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex ECC cases with confidence, calm, and compassion.
• Mentor junior and mid-level veterinarians through case reviews and real-time teaching.
• Create a psychologically safe, high-performing clinical environment.
• Establish and refine best-practice clinical protocols.
• Shape the long-term clinical vision of the hospital in partnership with senior leadership.
