Job summary

Hume City Council in Melbourne is seeking an Early Years professional to join our expanding Early Years team. You will support growth, learning and development of children in play-based programs, coordinating planning and evaluation of age-appropriate environments.

Applicants should hold relevant qualifications and a commitment to inclusive practice, strong collaboration with families and staff, and adherence to governance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Children’s Services/Certificate 3 in Children’s Services; recognised early years qualification.
• Experience in early childhood education setting.
• Child protection training (Protect) and National child safety training (Geckko modules 1-4).
• Current Working with Children’s Check and First Aid certifications.
• Anaphylaxis and asthma management training; CPR current.

Responsibilities

• Undertake day-to-day management duties for the service in line with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
• Act on urgent matters following Council authority while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Operate within Council policies, funding rules and service budget allocation.
• Collaborate with staff to develop programs integrating child-led learning and inclusive environments.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate education programs with ongoing observation and interpretation to inform environments.
