International Grammar School invites a German‑speaking Educator to join our Early Learning Centre, guiding children aged 3–5 in immersive language activities.

The role is full‑time, commencing as soon as possible, with ongoing professional development, mentoring, and access to our diverse facilities and language programs.

Qualifications

• ACECQA recognised Certificate III or Diploma in Early Education and Care.
• Fluency in German and understanding of German culture.
• Demonstrated integrity and child‑safe values.
• Knowledge of child protection obligations and related legislation.
• Willingness to obtain/maintain mandated trainings (First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis, asthma) and Child Protection training.

Responsibilities

• Participate in regular high‑quality training and professional development days.
• Contribute to a vibrant school community with language immersion opportunities.
• Receive mentoring and support for career advancement within the faculty.
• Prepare engaging learning experiences and lessons for 3–5 year olds.
• Utilise school facilities, including the Bibliothèque and regional campus resources.

We are seeking a highly motivated Educator fluent in German, with a strong understanding of German culture, to join our dynamic early learning program. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm and experience in nurturing young learners’ interest in the German language and culture, supporting children aged 3 to 5 years as they explore, discover, and develop a love of learning another language. This is a full-time ongoing position, commencing as soon as possible.

Requirements

• ACECQA recognised Certificate III or Diploma in Early Education and Care
• Fluency in German language and strong understanding of German culture
• Demonstrated integrity and attitudes consistent with child‑safe values
• Sound understanding of child safety responsibilities, including current knowledge of relevant child protection legislation and the Child Safe Standards
• Understanding of and willingness to fulfil mandatory reporting and escalation obligations in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures
• National Child Safety Training certificate of completion
• Commitment to maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of child protection obligations and professional responsibilities
• Current ACECQA approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma certifications or willingness to obtain
• Current ACECQA approved Child Protection training or willingness to obtain
• Sound knowledge of early childhood education and care legislation and regulations, including the EYLF and NQS
• Demonstrated strengths-based approach in working with children and their families
• Self‑motivation, initiative and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Sound ICT skills
• Availability to work between 7.20am and 6.10pm on the ELC roster (regular shifts provided)
• Not subject to any restrictions or prohibitions, including suspension, supervision or prohibition notices, or enforceable undertakings.
