Job summary

Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland invites applications for a Qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our North Rockhampton illoura service on a fixed term, full-time basis. This 12-month maternity leave cover role supports a 50-place centre with a play-based learning approach and strong family connections.

You will deliver a high-quality kindergarten program, observe children’s progress, and mentor other educators in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with eligibility for Queensland Teacher Registration
• Strong knowledge of EYLF, QKLG and National Quality Framework
• Current Blue Card and First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality kindergarten program that supports children’s learning, development and school readiness.
• Create engaging play-based learning experiences that inspire curiosity and a love of learning.
• Observe, assess and document children’s learning and progress.
• Lead and support educators within the room to achieve positive outcomes for children.
• Build strong relationships with children, families and the wider community.

Requirements

About you

• Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification)
• Current Queensland Teacher Registration (or eligibility to obtain)
• Strong knowledge of the EYLF, QKLG and National Quality Framework
• A passion for delivering high-quality play-based learning experiences
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Current Blue Card and First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain)
