Job summary

Torrens Early Learning Centre is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Teacher to lead the preschool room for children aged 3–5 years. You will design and implement the preschool program, mentor educators, and foster strong family partnerships.

The role requires observation and documentation of children's learning, responsive planning, and leadership to ensure the room meets EYLF and NQS standards within a long-tenured Canberra-based team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA-recognised).
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a lead or senior role.
• Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People Check, First Aid and CPR.
• Strong working knowledge of the EYLF and NQS.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
• Full Australian work rights.

The role

You'll design and lead the preschool program, mentor a team of educators and build genuine partnerships with families. Day to day, that means observing and documenting children's learning, planning responsively, guiding your team's practice, and ensuring the room runs smoothly against the EYLF and NQS.
