Job summary

McKinlay Shire Council is recruiting Early Childhood Educators to join the Julia Creek Early Learning Centre as it opens in January 2026. You will work with a small team of Educators, support families, and contribute to a culture of care and learning in our new facility.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education/working with children qualification (e.g. Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care)
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
• Current working with children Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
• Experience with children who have not yet commenced school
• Ability to promote and work within a team environment
• Knowledge of Childcare Legislation and National Quality Framework is desirable

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with a small team to support children and families
• Promote risk awareness, nature, sustainability, kindness, and resilience
• Foster a safe, engaging learning environment daily
• Comply with Queensland childcare regulations and centre policies
