Main Duties / Responsibilities
  • Work within the centre’s philosophy, policies and procedures as part of a team, in accordance with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Early Years Framework (EYLF).
  • Oversee the running of day to day operations across the centre, guide excellent quality documentation, build strong relationships with families and provide strong leadership while maintaining educator engagement.
  • Provide leadership and management to educators and staff regarding all aspects of the operation of the service in line with relevant regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Liaise closely with and provide periodical reports to the Nominated Supervisor/Approved Provider regarding matters relating to the operation of the service.
  • Support educators and staff with professional training and mentoring to effectively manage the service, whilst providing feedback regarding performance on a regular systematic basis.
  • Work as a member of the team, be flexible and work cooperatively to ensure efficient operation of the service and maintain a high level of morale.
  • Co‑operate and work collaboratively with families, ensuring regular communication regarding the care and specific needs of their children, and ensuring families feel comfortable and encouraged to become involved in the service.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Degree in Early Childhood from a recognised University (as listed on the approved qualification list by ACECQA), or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
  • Current Emergency First Aid response in an Education and Care Setting qualification.
  • Current ACECQA approved Anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training.
  • Valid Working with Children Check.
  • Accredited Child Protection Training.
  • Proven ability in all areas of administrative procedure, curriculum development, parent and community liaison, staff professional development and training, team leadership and management of staff.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and/or My Time Our Place Framework, Education and Care Services National Law (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011), Family Assistance Law (Child Care Subsidy 2018).
  • Previous experience in successfully managing a budget for an early education and care service.
