Job summary

Cranbourne East Secondary College seeks a dynamic VET Teacher/Trainer to deliver entry-level, accredited pathways to secondary students across one or more certificates. You will work within a strong careers team to support transition from school to the modern workforce.

Role includes planning, assessment, and delivering hands-on learning in Electrotechnology, Furniture Making, Health Services, and related programs. Flexible fraction options may apply, with part-time negotiation.

Qualifications

• Hold a current TAE40116 / TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or progress towards obtaining it).
• Hold, or be eligible for, Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, OR qualify for Permission to Teach with appropriate Working with Children Check.
• Possess up-to-date industry experience in Electrotechnology, Furniture Making, Engineering, or Health Services.
• Strong classroom and workshop management with OHS/WHS compliance.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills tailored to secondary learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, student-centred VET curriculum aligned with national training packages.
• Facilitate practical, workshop-based or simulated workplace learning environments.
• Assess student competence against industry standards and maintain documentation.
• Foster a safe, inclusive learning culture that promotes student retention and success.
