Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Paediatrics and Special Care Unit at Maitland Hospital. You will provide family-centred nursing care across two units, including Special Care for premature babies and a Paediatric ward for children and young people.

The role offers permanent, temporary and casual opportunities with comprehensive education and development support.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Desirable paediatric interest or experience.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment.
• Commitment to family-centred and culturally respectful care.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality family-centred nursing care to babies, children and young people.
• Work across Paediatrics and Special Care, gaining diverse clinical experience.
• Care for premature and newborn babies requiring additional monitoring.
• Develop and evaluate individual plans of care with patients, families and the team.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical and allied health professionals to ensure optimal care.
