Job summary

ALDI Stores Australia is seeking a Driver Trainer to join our Transport team in Melbourne. You will develop safe driving skills, deliver training to required standards, and support drivers with best-practice procedures to maintain high safety and compliance levels.

You will lead training activities, coordinate Telematics data usage, and ensure all staff meet ALDI and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of continuous learning and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Current HC or MC license is required.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent.
• Experience using Telematics platform data to support compliance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Clear and engaging communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and developing drivers to reach full compliance and performance standards.
• Facilitate the training of Basic Fatigue Management Courses TLIF0005/TLIF0006 or equivalent.
• Apply Safe Heavy Vehicle Driving Behaviours TLIC3037A or equivalent.
• Conduct site inspections for backhaul supplier sites.
• Support Transport audits.
• Train new employees including Telematics accounts and training plans.
• Lead a safety-focused team culture and support development of team members.
• Ensure lawful and safe operation of driving and mechanical handling equipment.
• Report safety incidents and issues promptly to the Direct Leader.
• Maintain Records and ALDI internal requirements for Logistics.

What does the role involve?

• Coaching and developing drivers to reach full compliance and performance standards.
• Facilitate the training of all Basic Fatigue Management Course TLIF0005 and TLIF0006, or equivalent. Apply Safe Heavy Vehicle Driving Behaviours TLIC3037A or equivalent.
• Conduct site inspections for backhaul supplier sites.
• Provide support for all Transport audits.
• Responsible for the training and development of new employees, including the creation of new starter telematics accounts and the creation of their training plans.
• Telematics accounts and the creation of their training plans.
• Lead and contribute to a team culture focused on safety, continuous learning, professionalism and compliance while actively supporting the development and training of team members.
• Ensure all driving and mechanical handling equipment operation is performed lawfully, safely and efficiently,
• with vehicles correctly shut down or recharged after use.
• report all safety incidents, damages, operational issues promptly to the Direct Leader.
• Ensure all current legislative and ALDI internal requirements and responsibilities are adhered to by Logistics Department employees at all times and adequate records maintained.

What do we need from you

• A current HC or MC license
• Current certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent
• Ideally, experience using Telematics platform data or similar to facilitate compliance activities and auditing processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, showcasing your team spirit
• Clear and engaging communication skills
