Job summary

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is seeking a casual Driver to join Mercy Food Services, delivering food and supplies to Mater Hospitals and external clients across a wide service area including Brisbane, Mackay, Bundaberg and Emerald. Shifts run Tuesday to Friday, four-day week, enabling a balanced lifestyle with consistent scheduling.

You will perform vehicle checks, maintain Food Safety Plan documentation, and ensure timely, accurate deliveries while upholding high service standards.

Qualifications

• Driver license - Manual MR is essential.
• Understanding of food safety principles and basic hygiene.
• Ability to achieve goals with minimal supervision.
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous truck driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Check and complete all documentation relating to dispatch and delivery as per the Food Safety Plan.
• Ensure products are complete and ready on the transport trolleys as per dispatch sheets.
• Deliver food products to clients as per the delivery schedule across service area.
• Complete vehicle checks and documentation related to Mercy Food Services vehicles.
• Advise the Food Services Manager when regular scheduled services are due for MFS vehicles.
• Ensure Mercy Food Service Equipment is returned in sound condition.
• Check vehicle refrigeration temperatures and monitor during journey.
• Clean vehicles as per the weekly cleaning program.

About the role

Mercy Food Services has an exciting opportunity for a Driver to join our team on a casual basis. This role offers excellent work-life balance, with shifts worked across a four-day week from Tuesday to Friday.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of food and supplies to Mater Hospitals and external clients across a wide service area, including Brisbane, Mackay, Bundaberg and Emerald. Your role will help ensure our customers receive high-quality products and outstanding service every time.

• Check and complete all documentation relating to dispatch and good delivery as per the Food Safety Plan
