Job summary

Ability Options is seeking a Diversity Recruitment Specialist to build and maintain relationships with employers to hire individuals with disabilities. The role focuses on engaging employers and identifying suitable job opportunities matching participants’ skills and goals.

Location across Ashfield, Redfern and Leichardt NSW with some regional travel. Salary is $68,990 p.a. + super plus $15,900 salary packaging + monthly RDOs. Max-term until 31 October 2027.

Qualifications

  • Background in marketing, sales or retail with a customer‑focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-based environment.
  • Experience building relationships with employers and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of child safe standards and mandatory reporting (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Connect participants to inclusive job opportunities through reverse marketing, networking and community engagement.
  • Assess prospective workplaces ensuring accessibility and cultural safety of participants.
  • Facilitate job search workshops focusing on resume building and interview readiness.

The Opportunity

The purpose of the Diversity Recruitment Specialist is to build and maintain relationship with employers, ensuring employers are aware and open to hiring individuals with disabilities. As a Diversity Recruitment Specialist, you will focus on engaging with employers and identifying suitable job opportunities that match each participant’s skills and goals.

Location: Ashfield, Redfern and Leichardt NSW (some travel may be required across the region)

Salary: $68,990 per annum + super and $15,900 in salary packaging + monthly RDOs

Your key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Connecting participants to inclusive job opportunities through reverse marketing, networking and community engagement.
  • Conducting assessments of prospective workplaces ensuring accessibility and cultural safety of participants.
  • Facilitate job search workshops for groups using interactive methods, focusing on resume building, interview preparation and other employment readiness topics.
  • Maintaining accurate records of participant interactions and compliance with all guidelines.
  • Provide continuous post-placement support to both employers and participants.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly developed administrative and organisational skills.
  • Experience in marketing and communications and ability to work in a target based, fast paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with people across different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain professional relationships with employers, community organisations and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, use initiative and multi-task.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to child safe standards and mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Driver's Licence (minimum P2).
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance and Motor Vehicle Registration.
