Job summary

PFD Food Services is seeking a hands-on DC Manager to lead our Tweed Heads distribution centre. You will oversee warehouse, transport, and inventory, ensuring safety, compliance, and continuous improvement while guiding five direct reports including shift managers and transport staff.

The role requires strong end-to-end supply chain leadership, exceptional people skills, and the ability to drive efficiency in a fast-paced, unionised environment.

Qualifications

• Proven end-to-end supply chain leadership across warehousing and distribution.
• Experience leading large DC sites (250+ employees) and multi-shift operations.
• Strong people leadership with coaching and mentorship.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience operating in a unionised environment.
• Continuous improvement mindset with measurable gains in safety, efficiency and service.
• Solid HACCP, OH&S, SQF and cold storage knowledge.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgeting and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the floor with daily direction and coaching of frontline teams.
• Oversee warehouse, transport and inventory to ensure accurate picking and on-time delivery across shifts.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to lift throughput and reduce waste.
• Manage site budgets with commercial discipline to meet targets.
• Conduct floor walks and compliance checks for HACCP, OH&S, SQF and cold storage readiness.
• Lead or support key site projects.
• Collaborate with Sales, Transport and Finance to optimise supply chain outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with employees, unions and stakeholders to maintain a stable environment.

We’relooking for a hands-on, strategic, and people-focused DC Manager to lead our Tweed Heads site.

In this role,you’lloversee the entire distribution centreoperation fromwarehouse and transport to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.You’llhave 5 direct reports(including Day, Afternoon and Night Shift Managers, Transport, Inventory, and Safety & Complianceto name a few), mentor emerging leaders, and partner closely with Sales, Transport, and Finance to ensure the site runs safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead from the floor, providing day to day direction, coaching, and capability building to frontline teams while driving ownership and accountability.
• Oversee all warehouse, transport, and inventory activities directly, ensuringaccuratepicking, loading, dispatch, stock integrity, and on time delivery across all shifts.
• Activelyidentifyand resolve operational bottlenecks, implementing practical process improvements that increase throughput, reduce waste, and lift productivity.
• Manage operational and labour budgets with strong commercial discipline, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
• Conduct regular floor walks and compliance checks tomaintaincompliance with HACCP, OH&S, SQF, and cold chain standards to ensure audit readiness.
• Lead or support key site projects.
• Partner closely with Sales, Transport, and Finance teams to optimise outcomes across the supply chain.
• Build strong relationships with employees, unions, and stakeholders to ensure a stable, collaborative work environment.

• Flexibility to support operational demands, including weekend or public holiday coverage whenrequiredtomaintainservice and site performance.
