Job summary

The Victorian School of Languages (VSL) is a government school and state-wide service that provides language programs from Foundation to Year 12. The Distance Education Section serves more than 1,700 students, while face-to-face classes reach about 18,000 students across forty centres in Victoria.

The successful applicant will teach the language identified and perform other general duties within the Distance Education Section, with a focus on technology-enabled learning for distance students.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Victorian curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing learning using data and providing feedback.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the Distance Education Section and other duties as directed by the Principal.
• Develop and revise online courses and materials for distance learners.
• Provide feedback and progress reports to students and parents and maintain records.
• Maintain student interaction logs and assessment records; prepare reports on progress.
• Liaise with home school supervisor and/or parent or guardian; conduct student interviews.
• Support students experiencing difficulties and participate in support programs as required.
